My boss is retiring and I really wanted to do something special for her. My sister and I designed the quilt. I used T-shirt iron on transfers for the pictures. You have to make sure that when you print them, that the printer is set to print it as a mirror image, otherwise you will have a picture backwards when it is ironed on. We ironed on each picture and then sewed all the blocks together. The letters on the header and footer were cut out by my Cricut and I used the Disney font cartridge. I used wonder under to iron them on (make sure you iron the wonder under on the fabric before you use the Cricut to cut them out) and then sewed around each letter. It was a lot of sewing but I was able to get it done in two weekends. Let me just say my boss absolutely loved it!
My name is Erika and I am a mother and an elementary school teacher. I love scrapbooking and card making. Making jewelry has also been fun. I grew up in a home where my mom was always making things for us, dresses, dolls, stuffed animals and such. I loved it. I tried to learn some things but it was difficult because I am left handed and my mom is right handed. Needless to say, I left home without knowing how to do some really cool things. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my daughter that I really wanted to make the effort to learn. I learned how to sew and do some other fun crafts. Thank goodness my mom is the craft queen of the world because I have been able to go to her and ask her for help. She is my best example and my best friend. Plus, she made me start this blog...so here I am.
